Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
is a manual therapy that benefits everyone. Developed for the treatment of swollen lymph nodes, MLD incorporates a light, skin-stretching massage that promotes the movement of lymphatic fluid out of swollen limbs. Unlike traditional massage, MLD is specifically focused on lymph vessels to increase the flow of lymphatic fluid. The therapist applies the technique to unaffected areas first, making it possible for the fluid to move out of the “congested” region into a freely-flowing region. Deep breathing techniques call “diaphragmatic breathing are usually done at the beginning and end of MLD to open the deep lymphatic pathways helping to relax the patient and increase movement of fluid toward the heart.
- Detoxification – improve overall health by effectively eliminating toxins and waste products built up in the lymphatic system.
- Improve Immune System – When the lymph nodes are clear the immune system is enhanced, preventing illness better
- Reduces Edema – move and help the body process excess fluid in the tissues that cause swelling, puffiness and stiffness
- Advanced Relaxation – gentle, soft strokes help the patient relax, reducing stress and anxiety
- Encourage Skin Health – light manual manipulation decreases of damaging toxins in the skin as well as improves circulation improving blood flow, oxygenation and nutrient delivery to the skin
- Boost Athleticism – reduce recovery time after exercise, reduce risk of injury and improve circulation
- Diminish Inflammation – inflammation occurs naturally in the body, but in excess, inflammation leads to pain and discomfort which can be reduced by MLD
- Decrease Fluid Retention – pregnancy, hormonal changes, certain medications, diet, etc. can all lead to fluid retention in the body which can be treated via MLD
- Alleviate Sinus Congestion – Improve the discomfort of sinus pressure by clearing mucus and improving breathing
- Weight Loss – promote full health and a leaner you by improving lymphatic circulation, which removes toxins and decreases fluid retention
Myofascial Release Therapy
is a gentle constant massage that releases tightness and pain in the myofascial tissues. “Myo” means muscle, “fascial” refers to the connective tissue that covers and supports the muscles throughout your body. Also known as myofascial trigger point therapy, during Myofascial Release our therapists focus on releasing tension in your fascial tissues by applying gentle pressure on trigger points and knots until they feel the tension release.

Swedish Massage
is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Massage oil or lotion is used to protect the skin from friction.
Massages are a great way to relax and unwind. A massage involves manipulating the muscles and joints to relieve stress or pain. This is achieved by relaxing tight muscles and promoting blood circulation.
Beneficial to your heart. A massage therapist manipulates the body’s soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels) and uses strokes that flow toward the heart, improving blood circulation.
May help reduce symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety. Some of the symptoms that could be managed by massage therapy include back pains, headaches, muscle issues and other chronic pains.
Known to be associated with boosting immunity. This can help you in managing conditions like the common cold, asthma, diabetes, and breast cancer.
Nerve stimulation. By applying pressure and manipulating the muscles, a Swedish massage helps to stimulate nerves located in different parts of the body. The nerves could be stimulated in a way that helps to manage pain and discomfort.
Mood booster. Massages have been found to improve mood by promoting the production of dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin. These hormones act to stabilize your mood, helping you feel happy and positive. A Swedish massage could also act to reduce the production of cortisol, a stress-causing hormone.
Tension reliever. Also known as adhesions, knots can be quite painful. The Swedish massage warms up the muscles and breaks down the binding spots and relieves the tension gathered at the knots. If you have a severe case of knots, consider other, more intense types of massages.
Lymph drainage. Lymphatic drainage occurs naturally when you use your muscles. However, if for any reason you are not moving or using your muscles, the lymphatic fluid could accumulate. This could cause a build up of toxins. A Swedish massage can help manage this problem.
Improving flexibility. Massages help in relaxing your muscles and joints. This improves your range of motion, which in turn increases your stretching capability.
Deep Tissue Massage
a therapeutic massage technique that helps to relieve pain and tension in the body. While other massage techniques are focused on prominent body parts, deep tissue massage focuses on the deep areas of the muscle.Deep tissue massage has been the most recommended massage technique for the treatment of physical injuries and chronic pains.
Help Lower Your Blood Pressure: A deep tissue massage gets into the deep layer of the tissue on your body, which impacts blood flow.
Fight Chronic Back Pain: A good massage also helps with back pain.
Reduces Stress, Anxiety, and Muscle Tension: Chronic stress and muscle tension cause inflammation, which can worsen your overall health. A deep tissue massage is a solution to all the stress life throws at you.
Increases the production of oxytocin: This hormone is more or less your bonding hormone. It influences your social interactions and creates positive emotions. You’ve probably heard how endorphins make you happy, and that’s exactly what this massage does.
Break Up That Scar Tissue: Scarring is natural. Have you ever picked at a scab and then a few days later it was a white scar? That’s your skin healing.
Break down your internal and external scar tissue and help muscles recover: Patients with burn scars found that the massage treatment results in less pain and itching, and a decrease in their scar thickness.
Labor Pains Will Be a Breeze: Pregnancy is a glorious thing, but being in excruciating pain is not.Good news ladies! Getting a massage lowers anxiety. Women who received a massage before or during labor experience a decrease in depression, anxiety, and back pain. There’s a chance the massage will lower your labor time and the amount of medication you need. The goal is to have a safe and healthy pregnancy all around.
Fight Arthritis: Do you have a desk job? Are you constantly pounding away on a keyboard? It might be time for a deep tissue massage to combat arthritis pain. (Depending on how far along your arthritis is, it can affect your quality of life. Massages improve pain, stiffness, range of motion, and your overall hand grip. You shouldn’t be in pain, even if you’re trying to write something simple down on a piece of paper)
- Athletic Rehabilitation: Athletes are prone to muscle injury and soreness. Coaches, athletes, and professionals in sports medicine recommend getting a massage. The benefits are amazing: athletes increase their blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and have an increased sense of well-being. Studies have shown that a massage can help an athlete’s overall performance, recovery and muscle injury prevention.
